Renewal Group B: Strengthening RelationshipsThe Strengthening Relationships is taking a break during the Spring 2013 cycle. A related workshop (for married couples) will be offered in March. How to Register: TBD Description: We all spend the majority of our waking hours interacting with people. These interactions, both casual and more personal, have the potential to shape us--either for good or ill. For many, relationships can easily become conduits for personal satisfaction and self-centered happiness. While God does want us to find great joy in our friendships, he never states that as the end goal or primary motivation. Rather he places his purpose for us at the center: becoming more like Christ. This renewal group will use the workbook Change and Your Relationships: A Mess Worth Making, by Timothy Lane and Paul Tripp and will challenge participants to develop a radically biblical understanding of relationships--relationships in which:
Group members will be required to spend at least 1-2 hours per week in homework exercises and journalling. Note: This group was designed as a follow-up to the "Relationships: A Mess Worth Making" seminar, but attendance in the seminar is not a pre-requisite to joining this counseling group. For those who attended the seminar, this group helps participants go deeper and engage the material through weekly homework exercises and group interactions led by the group counselor.
