Sharing Our Faith

Since Redeemer started, sharing our faith has been a vital part of our vision to see the city renewed by the gospel. This year the Redeemer community will have a unique opportunity for congregants to have conversations about their faith with friends who don't identify as Christian. March 7 - April 18, 2019, Tim Keller will lead a series on Questioning Christianity (Thursday evenings for seven weeks) where we hope hundreds of our friends—who don’t yet have a personal faith—will join us to process their questions about Christianity.

1 Peter 3:15 instructs Christians to share the hope we have within: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." Below you can learn more about why having a public faith is essential to our vision and how it has been and will continue to be central to growing a gospel movement in NYC.

Questioning Christianity

Questioning Christianity (QC) was a series of meetings (one night a week for 7 weeks) where Redeemer attenders brought friends who didn't have a personal faith, to hear their most difficult doubts about Christianity processed and then dissuss those doubts with their friends after the session. The first QC series was held in the Spring of 2014 and then a second time in early 2015. Each week's subject builds on the previous weeks’ sessions, and each is concerned with the larger question, does Christianity make sense emotionally, culturally and intellectually.

SHARING THE HOPE THAT’S WITHIN FOR
THE GOOD OF THE CITY

Our vision is to see the body of Christ in center-city New York triple to 15%—which we believe might amount to a tipping point that does more than change individual lives, but enhances the long-term life of our city for everyone in it.
