Must also actively check emails on Fridays and Saturdays. DATE: March 3, 2025 WAGE RANGE:$28-$30 per hour Your purpose starts here! By joining Redeemer Lincoln Square, you’ll help build a great city; bringing personal conversion, community formation, social justice, and cultural renewal to New York City and, through it, the world. We are FOR NYC; and a church that is not for ourselves, but for others, where our community is known, loved and cared for, and that values questions and the people who ask them. POSITION SUMMARY: This position will cover aspects of the Director of Hospitality and Connections role while staff is on maternity leave. The focus will be on maintaining ministry initiatives, helping integrate newcomers into the LSQ community, overseeing all aspects of service and volunteering, and offering support to the Operations Coordinator. JOB DESCRIPTION: Sunday Service — (4 hrs/wk on Sunday mornings from 9am-1pm) Oversee the Sunday experience by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes people feel welcomed and valued. Engage with all Sunday Service teams (Ushers, Coffee Hour, Connect Table, Brunch Bunch, Communion, Scripture Readers) to answer questions, provide assistance, and offer encouragement, ensuring they feel supported and empowered in their roles. Assist the Operations Coordinator with resolving issues and identifying areas for improvement that impact the experience of congregants, visitors, and volunteers. Attend Coffee Hour after the service to connect with newcomers and visitors interested in becoming more involved with LSQ. Volunteers — (4 hrs/wk) Manage volunteers for Sunday services, send weekly reminder emails, and track confirmations, responding promptly to any scheduling inquiries or changes. Maintain strong relationships with all volunteers across teams listed above, including Prayer Team, Linq Groups, and Meals Ministry. Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers. Respond promptly to service inquiries and submissions. Keep training manuals and team rosters (in TouchPoint and spreadsheets) up to date. Plan and host an appreciation event for volunteers on Saturday, September 6. Connections — (3 hrs/wk) Monitor and track Connect card submissions, responding promptly. Connect congregants with appropriate staff, highlight ways to get involved, and offer personal meetings when needed. Organize Newcomer Lunches in August and September, with a Pastoral Care Team member assisting in hosting. These events provide newcomers with a space to learn about LSQ and connect with others in the community. Prayer Ministry — (1 hr/wk) Gather prayer requests from staff to create a bi-monthly LSQ Ministries & Staff Prayer Requests document, which will be shared with the staff and prayer team. Review and respond promptly to prayer form submissions. Connect congregants with LSQ church officers when they request to pray over the phone. Collaborate with pastoral team members for additional care as needed. Input prayer submissions into a spreadsheet for the Prayer Team, with congregant permission, to keep them updated on congregational prayer needs. General — (3 hrs/wk) Attend LSQ’s all-staff meeting each Monday and a weekly check-in with the Executive Director. Work closely with the Operations Coordinator, Ministry Project Manager, and Communications Department to develop, design, write, and compile materials and collateral for all aspects of the role (e.g., ads in Connect, Sunday announcements, signs, brochures, handouts, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: Must embrace LSQ’s vision and have a gospel-oriented heart for New York City. Must be aligned with the core theological principles, including the core ministry values of LSQ and the Presbyterian Church of America, including the Westminster Confession. This job is highly relational in nature, and requires extensive time with people. Must be energized and motivated by being around others. A strong team leader with the ability to motivate and mobilize those they lead. Two plus years of ministry experience preferred. Previous customer service management or hospitality work is a plus. Must demonstrate high emotional maturity and a pleasant and professional attitude. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and responsive in a timely manner. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive projects to completion in a timely manner. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and online applications (Google calendar/docs). Whether you are seeking to pursue your purpose, spend more time with your family, invest time in your education, or enjoy your hobbies, a part-time job with Redeemer allows you time to explore all of that, and more, while earning a competitive wage and being part of an organization that is building a great city! - Apply HERE: https://lsq.apscareerportal.com/j/02kaqlj
